Biography

Tom Law is a British tenor studying towards his Masters in Vocal and Operatic Performance at the Royal College of Music in London, studying with Timothy Evans-Jones and Bryan Evans and supported by the John Nickson and Simon Rew Scholarship in memory of Sir Peter Jonas, the Geoffrey Boyes Memorial Scholarship, the Josephine Baker Trust and the Poppy Holden Award. He is currently a Young Artist with the Waterperry Opera Festival (singing in the ensemble of ‘La Bohème’) and was previously an Alvarez Emerging Artist (2025) with Garsington Opera performing in ‘L’Elisir D’Amore’ (Donizetti) and ‘Fidelio’ (Beethoven). In March 2026, Tom will sing ‘The Podestà’ in the RCM’s production of ‘La Finta Giardiniera’ (Mozart), being his final performance in his 6 years studying there. Previous roles at the Royal College of Music include Bayard Taylor in ‘Barnum’s Bird’ (Larson), covering La Théière in ‘L’Enfant et les Sortilèges’ (Ravel) and Il Buffone in ‘La Bella Dormente nel Bosco’ (Respighi), and singing in the chorus of ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ (Mozart), ‘L’Enfant et les Sortilèges’ and ‘La Bella Dormente nel Bosco’, whilst externally singing the role of ‘The Angel’ in a Tête-à-Tête production of ‘The Acts of Brizida Vaz’ (Gonçalves) and travelling to Jersey with Diva Opera to take part in a gala concert to raise funds for Blood Cancer UK.

Alongside a building operatic career, Tom has extensive experience on the solo concert platform, performing the ‘Messiah’ (Handel) with the Portsmouth Cathedral Choir, the ‘Mass in C Minor’ (Mozart) and ‘Nelson Mass’ (Haydn) with the Buckingham Choral Society, the ‘Nelson Mass’ with Sussex Voiceworks, ‘Paulus’ (Mendelssohn) with the Waltham Singers at Chelmsford Cathedral, and will be performing ‘Requiem in D Minor’ (Mozart) and the ‘Creation’ (Haydn) in the following few months. Tom has extensive chorus experience, performing in ‘Requiem’ (Verdi), the ‘Creation’, ‘Elijah’ (Mendelssohn), ‘Symphony No. 9’ (Beethoven), and the ‘St. John Passion (Bach) at St John’s, Smith Square. Alongside this, Tom has performed and toured with ‘The Facade Ensemble’ directed by Benedict Collins-Rice on their Holy Week Tour of London, Bury St. Edmunds and Ely and recorded a series of 3 albums at Alexandra Palace celebrating the works of Andrew Downes with the ‘Philharmonia Voices’ directed by Aidan Oliver and Ben Parry. Tom regularly performs alongside the finest choirs in London and has enjoyed previous consort singing including a trip to Venice to perform sung compline.
